Philip has worked with leading firms in the Brisbane CBD, rural and regional Queensland, and suburban Brisbane and Logan.  His work has always involved representing real people from all walks of life with real problems involving many and varied areas of law.

He chose to join the Jones Leach Lawyers team more than 10 years ago so that he could continue his chosen career. Along the way, Philip has accumulated an impressive range of skills and knowledge and developed finely-honed skills to help guide clients through what can be deeply troubling and harrowing times in their lives.  He has a no-nonsense way of communicating with clients so that they know what to expect and are aware of the progress of their matters.

His work has included:

·       Family Law
·       Criminal Law (including council prosecutions)
·       Driver License and Traffic matters
·       Wills and Estates
·       Resumptions (compulsory acquisition of land by governments or councils)
·       Guardianship and Administration matters
·       Neighbourhood Disputes
·       Civil Litigation (including debt collection and personal injuries)
·       Guiding clients through labyrinthine legislation and regulations, forms, and language used by various bureaucracies

Philip frequently appears as an advocate for clients in the criminal, traffic, civil, and family court systems.  He also appears in various boards and tribunals, including Queensland’s “super tribunal” – the Queensland Civil and Administration Tribunal (“QCAT”).

Philip has access to Queensland’s leading barristers (counsel) across all fields of law and will brief only when he considers that counsel will do a better job for his client than he would himself. He is keenly aware of the costs – personal as well as monetary – of litigation and uses his negotiation skills to the benefit of his clients in a variety of alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediations, settlement conferences, and case appraisals.

Excellent. Very professional. I am so grateful to all of the team at Jones Leach Law for helping us with our Mum's estate. At such a difficult and sad time it was so great to have your assistance and compassion. Philip and Gayle were wonderful to deal with and always helpful and kind. And Eloise also for the conveyancing of Mum's property.
